GREENSPACES...Who does what around PBA? Thoughtfully
landscaped and well-maintained green spaces do more than beautify a neighborhood; they quietly signal something deeper. They serve as a
visual cue that you are entering a place where residents are attentive, engaged, and take pride in their surroundings. That level of care is not just aesthetic; it
communicates awareness, presence, and stewardship. In turn, these spaces help foster a sense of safety, suggesting that the neighborhood is not only valued but also actively watched over and respected by those who live there. So, who does what around the PBA greenspaces?....
Sam T. Roberts Park – Peachtree Battle/Northside + Path + Sagamore/NorthsideThis park space was
privately funded through donations and PBA funding (Sagamore end), covering planning, design, materials, and installation. While Sam T. Roberts Park is officially an Atlanta city park,
PBA membership dues fund its weekly maintenance and irrigation, protecting and upholding the investment in alignment with PBA standards. It serves as the neighborhood’s western entry point(s).
Note: The City of Atlanta maintains mowing along the path, and Trees Atlanta is currently implementing a privately funded, five-year invasive removal and reforestation project. Betty Young Park – Woodward Way/AltonThis park space was
privately funded, with AMPC overseeing planning, design, permitting, and installation coordination. Although Betty Young Park is an Atlanta city park,
PBA membership dues fund its weekly maintenance and irrigation, keeping the space in alignment with PBA standards. BYP provides an important setting for play, relaxation, and neighborhood events.
Northwest BeltLine Connector (Path around Bobby Jones)This heavily used corridor for walking, running, biking, and dog walking is
maintained by the City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation in collaboration with AMPC and input from PBA. Mowing and maintenance occur on a weekly to biweekly schedule, depending on season and weather conditions.
Should you find any issues related to maintenance, down trees/limbs, etc., please report to ATL311 and cc: PBA. Peachtree Battle Median “Park”Did you know the
Peachtree Battle median greenway is technically a public park? While not a traditional park, it is a thoughtfully designed landscape influenced by early parkway planning principles, in which the roadway itself serves as a park-like setting.
The City of Atlanta maintains this space on a biweekly schedule, adjusted for season and weather. Should you find any issues related to maintenance, down trees/limbs, etc., please report to ATL311 and cc: PBA.
