Coyote Sitings

HEADLINE:  Coyotes spotted in the neighborhood

With fall dispersal season underway, coyotes are more active in urban creekside and wooded areas. Sightings are normal, but neighbors can help keep pets and families safe by reducing attractants.
  • Safety Tips:
  • Supervise pets outdoors, especially at night and near creekside areas.
  • Keep cats indoors; leash dogs even in yards backing up to woods.
  • Secure trash cans, compost, and don’t leave pet food outside.
  • Collect fallen fruit and clean up bird seed spills.
  • If you encounter a coyote, stand tall, wave, and make noise to reinforce their fear of humans.
By working together, we can discourage coyotes from lingering and keep our neighborhood safe and balanced.
