MOLLY BLANK CENTER FOR OPERA - UPDATES & NEWS

PBA will maintain an active news and update feed for the Molly Blank Center for Opera on this page! Check back for additional details and updates as they become available.

03.26.2025 Update:
"The Shed," located at the rear of the old clubhouse, is scheduled for demolition on Monday, March 31, 2025. Once removed, the rear of the building will be fully visible, which will help ensure greater accuracy in the current architectural schematic work.

02.14.2025 Update:
  • PBA and AMPC continue to collaborate closely with TAO and other project-related entities. PBA and AMPC leadership are scheduled to meet for a project update in late February or early March. PBA will communicate any significant updates via the PBA Friday FYI email and this "news story/update" page.
General Update:
  • The building has been secured and a temporary boundary fence has been installed.
  • A more significant and aesthetically pleasing construction boundary will be installed before the construction starts.
  • TAO is currently in the "schematic" planning phase as the building elements are further developed and refined.
  • See the links below for public news stories on the project.

From PBA’s early involvement and neighborhood advocacy in project pre-planning to the construction schedule, key milestones, and beyond, we’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way.

The Opera Center is projected to open in late Summer or fall 2027. We’re collaborating closely with TAO leadership to ensure a seamless construction process and that it becomes a welcomed, low-impact addition to the neighborhood and community.
