Highlights from the Year

PBA has been busy. President Juan Johnson and Vice-President Kendra Adams have worked with committee chairs to accomplish many things on behalf of our historic neighborhood.  Some highlights include constant oversight of watershed and infrastructure projects, steadfast dedication in stewarding the improvements and establishment of PBA parks and green spaces, diligent monitoring and management of neighborhood security, a robust membership program and new member outreach, and consistent collaboration, coordination and communication with the City of Atlanta and its various agencies.

Additional details on the above items and more will be presented at the annual meeting by committee chairpersons.

Guest Speakers:

Jim Elgar - Chief of Staff, Councilwoman Mary Norwood
Debra Wathen - Chairman, Buckhead Council of Neighborhoods
Catherine Spillman - Executive Director, Atlanta Memorial Park Conservancy

PBA Directors:

Overview - Board members are elected in terms of three years and can serve two consecutive terms in addition to any partial term to which a board member is elected.  The board is divided into three classes, one of whose terms expire each year.

Retiring Members - You have authorized a board of 25 members.  As of this date, we have 21 board members. Three of these members Mark Rusche, Susan McGonigle, and Gerry Woodruff have served at least two terms and will retire from the Board.  Mark served on the zoning committee for most of this term. Susan served on the traffic and filming committees. Gerry chaired and served on the traffic committee for many years. Please join me in thanking Mark, Susan, and Gerry for their service. Wendel Greider joined the board in 2018, filling an unexpired term and then was elected in 2020. Wendel will continue with his service on the Security committee but will retire from the Board. Thank you, Wendel! Similarly, Jennifer Stump joined our board in 2019 and was elected for a full term in 2020. Jennifer has served on the membership committee and led our block captains. Jennifer is going to retire from the board but remains in service on the membership committee. Thank you, Jen!

Returning Members - We have three members Amy Githens, Suzanne Jones, and Nory Lebrun joined in 2020 and are completing one three-year term. Each of these members is volunteering for a second term.

New Members - In 2023, we had three new members join the Board. Anna Patton, Craig Mullins, and David Moeller.

The board has nominated and recommends that the membership ratify and confirm each of Amy Githens, Suzanne Jones, and Nory LeBrun for a full three-year second term of service effective from November 2023 and ending November 2026.

The board is nominating and recommends that the membership ratify and confirm Dan Diffley as a Board member serving a second three-year term that began in 2022 and will end in 2025.

The board has nominated and recommends that the membership ratify and confirm each of Anna Patton, Craig Mullins, and David Moeller (all of whom have stepped in to fill board seats vacated for a portion of 2023) and are now nominated to full new three-year terms effective at the 2023 annual meeting and ending in 2026.

Accordingly, with these newly elected and confirmed members, we have 17 members of the Board and we are authorized to have as many as 25. There are 8 vacancies on the Peachtree Battle Alliance Board of Directors.

PBA is seeking four new board members, each to serve a three-year term.

Election of Board Members:

For the second term ending in the 2025 Annual Meeting, the Board proposes that the membership elect Dan Diffley as a Board Member. Dan Diffley lives on Habersham with his wife and children. Dan is a litigation partner at Alston & Bird. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond and Wake Forest Law School.

For the first term ending in the 2026 Annual Meeting, the Board proposes that the membership elect Craig Mullins, Anna Patton, and David Moeller as Board Members.

David Moeller and his wife Brittany have been residents of the neighborhood since 2017. They have two young children – one born while living on Montview and the other born while living in their current home on Peachtree Battle. David is a proud graduate of Georgia Tech and Harvard Business School.  He has been a serial inventor and entrepreneur and is currently the founder and CEO of Keep Technologies. Keep Technologies has developed a proprietary car security device and has raised several million dollars in funding in advance of the product launch this year.

Craig Mullins and his wife Laura are longtime residents of the neighborhood and longtime members of the PBA. They moved here in 1986 and have raised three daughters in their home on Havenridge. Craig is a graduate of Emory University with additional master’s degrees in taxation and accounting from Georgia State University. Craig trained and practiced as an accountant in Atlanta focusing on the healthcare sector. In addition to his significant professional training and expertise, Craig has served as a member of several civic and educational boards, including the Candler School of Theology, Buckhead Christian Ministry, and Sophia Academy.

Anna Patton is a lifelong resident of the neighborhood, having grown up on Red Valley Road and currently residing on Dellwood. Anna and her husband, John, have lived in that home since 1995. She and her husband have raised three children. Anna is a graduate of Florida State and practiced labor and employment law at Alston & Bird from 1994 to 2000. Beyond her professional expertise, Anna brings a wealth of volunteer and board experience, such as Peachtree Battle Friend (benefitting CHOA), Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool, the Adaptive Learning Center for Infants and Children, and the E. Rivers Annual Fund.

Returning Members - Your board proposes that you re-elect these three members whose terms expire on the date of the Annual Meeting for the terms ending at the 2026 Annual Meeting.

Amy Githens who lives on Woodward Way
Suzanne Jones who lives on Brookdale
