New Scheduled Bulk Pick-Up

Bulk pick-up items include: mattresses, sofas, over 20 bags of yard waste, appliances (washer, dryer, refrigerator and stove)

Items that are NOT bulk items include: tires, motor vehicle parts, building materials/construction & demolition wastes items

 

Presently, residents have one week a month assigned to their area when they may place bulk waste items in front of their home for pick-up. 

 

Once you schedule your bulk pick-up, the items must be placed on the curb after 7pm on the day before the scheduled pick-up day.

From April 2019 to June 2019, residents who place bulk items on the curb without scheduling a pick-up service will receive a written warning.

Effective July 1, 2019, residents who place bulk items on the curb without scheduling a pick-up service will be charged $325.

You must order your bulk pick-up at least one day in advance.  Appointments are subject to availability and bulk collection is Monday through Friday.

The new service went into effect on April 1, and there are some drawbacks. For example, you must schedule a bulk pickup.  You can’t just put the stuff on the street.  Also, you must not put the stuff on the street before 7:00 PM on the day before you have scheduled a pickup.  Violation of these rules can result in significant fines.

For example, if you schedule more than 12 bulk pickups in a year, you will be charged $325.  If you put your stuff on the street before 7:00 PM on the day before you have schedule a pickup, you can be fined $325.  If you put your stuff on the street without scheduling a pickup, you can be fined $325.  Be sure to keep this in mind if you have a major yard clean up and put 21 or more bags of refuse on the street.  You can also be fined for putting nonconforming materials on the street—e.g., construction waste.
From now until the end of June, the City will issue warnings for violations, but beginning July 1, the fines will be levied.
