As you may know, most of the funding for PBA’s activities comes from annual membership dues. Thank you for your participation in the maintenance and improvement of this wonderful neighborhood. Because we raised dues this year, the PBA Board has made additional efforts to be transparent in describing the use of these funds.
PBA is also working to seek other funding sources. For example, where appropriate, PBA accepts local business sponsorships and donations. Similarly, PBA has accepted larger donations and legacy gifts for specific projects. To facilitate these generous donations, PBA will be forming a dedicated tax-advantaged, 501(c)(3) entity. We will share more information about this charitable organization for neighborhood greenspace improvement at our Spring Party on Sunday, April 30, and in future announcements.
I want to thank Alston & Bird LLP and especially its partner, Dan Diffley, who donated significant time and resources to this effort. Alston & Bird partners, including several PBA neighbors, have long contributed their legal expertise for the benefit of our neighborhood and the greater community. Thank you also to PBA Board members Amy Githens and Marc Schneidau who helped us make this idea a reality.
