Solicitation / Door-to-Door Scammers
Haynes Manor is hit repeatedly by the same “scammers”- solicitors who come to the door asking for money or other
kinds of assistance. Not only is this illegal without a city permit, but many
of these con artists have extensive criminal backgrounds. They wouldn’t
be coming back again and again unless they were successful.
Bottom line: 1) Don’t ever give money to someone who shows up at your door. 2) ALWAYS ask to see a permit issued by the Atlanta Police Department. 3) If a solicitor only shows you an "ID tag" and can’t produce a valid permit, call 911 immediately, give a description of the individual(s), and the police will escort "scammers" out of our neighborhood.
